An All-Day Wine Country tour.

Spend the day exploring the beautiful California Wine Country. Your morning departure will take you across the Golden Gate Bridge for a short drive up into Jack London's famed Valley of the Moon. Your first stop of the day will be at Gloria Ferrer Champagne Cellars to enjoy a private tour and an opportunity to taste champagne while you admire spectacular Bay and vineyard views from the winery's terraces. Next you will explore the historic township of Sonoma, the site of California Bear Flag Revolution from Mexico. This is perhaps California' most historic town and features the largest Town Square in the State.

Village of Sonoma

A walking tour around the Square will take you to the Old Spanish Mission, the adobe Military Barracks, and General Vallejo's Hacienda. You'll have time afterwards to browse through the many shops and galleries that surround the Square. After Sonoma, you'll drive to a local winery for a scrumptious outdoor picnic complete with vineyard view. After lunch, there will be time for a final stop for a tour of Buena Vista Winery, the oldest premium winery in California. This is the perfect tour to enjoy great wine and food, shopping, and historical sightseeing.

dinnerArt and Architecture of the Napa Valley

Nowhere is the European influence of the wine country more evident than in the construction of the great mansions and chateau style wineries of the Napa Valley. And those that can afford this lifestyle have amassed some of the most impressive and largest private art collections west of the Mississippi. Our tour begins at ClosPegasus, a highly unusual structure designed by famed American architect Michael Graves. Tucson in appearance, the adjectives "Massive, Startling, Heretic, and Grand" are used frequently by Napa natives when describing ClosPegasus. The ever-growing art collection of ClosPegasus covers a range of media; from sculptures in granite, bronze, marble and wood, to oils, water colors and collages, as well as rare artifacts and antiques.

After our tour and tasting at ClosPegasus, we will drive down the scenic Napa Valley to have a lunch at a winery, or perhaps outside adjacent to a vineyard.

Following lunch, we have a brief stop at the boutique shopping village "Vintage 1000". Then we're off to the Hess Collection, our last stop for the day. Wealthy Swiss entrepreneur Donald Hess, has a passion about everything he undertakes- whether it's wines or art, created the Hess Collection. The Collection is housed in the historic Mont LaSalle winery, built in the late 1800's by the Christian Brother order. The old stone winery was remodeled by Hess to house his personal, and eclectic collection of sculpture and paintings. Program includes either gourmet sitdown, or picnic lunch.
