There is a lot more to do in the wine country
than just drink wine!

HMS Destination Management will create the perfect day of recreation for your group.

Peddle & Paddle: The day begins in Healdsburg. After you are fitted with a bicyle and gear, we embark on a wonderful 12-mile loop in the Dry Creek and/ or Alexander Valleys. Quiet, peaceful, virtually traffic free, this enchanting loop takes us by wineries such as Lambert Bridge, Quivera, Dry Creek, Preston, and many others. You’ll think you were in Southern France or Tuscany!

After the ride, enjoy a gourmet lunch under the shade of the big oaks with a view of the valley.  Linen tablecloth, china, wine glasses, and flowers round out the setting as you indulge in pesto pasta salad, local fresh organic salad greens, fresh baked bread, exotic cheeses, and seasonal fresh fruit.

After lunch, we head for the Russian River where we climb into either canoes or sit-on-top kayaks for a leisurely paddle along this picturesque, slowly moving river that winds its way through the vineyards, filled with birds and wildlife. The Russian river is warm, clear and is filled with opportunities to pull over at numerous beaches and go for a swim. A few swift currents make this exciting and believe us when we say "Your going to get wet". We might come across a rope swing or see a blue heron or snowy egret.
We finish our trip about 5:00 PM before getting in the van and heading back to Healdsburg.

You'll want to bring a swim suit and water socks or old tennis shoes on this trip. A summer time favorite for people of all ages.

Hiking Day Trips: We start at Robert Louis Stevenson State Park and hit the trails toward the summit of Mt. St. Helena.  Expert leaders explain the sights and history of the area.

Once we reach the summit, we enjoy a beautiful gourmet picnic lunch. Take in the amazing views of the Napa Valley. On the horizon, we see the Pacific Ocean, Mt. Tamalpais, and on a clear day, San Francisco.

After lunch we make our descent, hiking down along the fire road or back along the more technical trail.

Calistoga Sip & Cycle: We're off on a guided tour at about 10:00 AM with your leader explaining the sights and some of the wine jargon / history. We travel the quiet country lanes to our first winery stop. After a tour of the grounds we taste the wine and then move along to our second winery where we often have a private barrel tasting. The support van is nearby for wine purchases or another bottle of water. We cycle along easy and flat roads to our third winery and our picnic spot.

After our lunch we return to our bikes rested and recharged. We continue down the Silverado Trail. The Palisades Mountains on one side and the vines on the other frame our ride as we head for our next winery. We call this winery the “Shrine to Wine” for its superb collection of art and antiquities, as well as intriguing architecture and excellent wines. After a tasting, we return to Calistoga, arriving around 4pm. Here we bid you farewell and thank you for riding with us!

GOLF GOLF GOLF: Enjoy a round of golf at one of the many award-winning championship courses around the wine country. Greens fees and availability are subject to change. Please contact us directly to arrange tee times for your group.

Mud Baths & Spas: At Golden Haven Spa couples can enjoy the mud baths together. Each of our treatment rooms can accommodate two persons so you can share this wonderful experience in privacy with your companion only a few inches away.

Mud baths have been a tradition, a way of life in Calistoga since the time of the Mayacamas Indians. The combination of clay, peat and hot mineral waters in the mud bath relaxes muscles and joints, cleanses impurities, and leaves the skin soft and renewed. Let us arrange the perfect mud bath experience for you.

The enzyme bath is a therapeutic heat treatment that originated in Japan. There the establishment of over 40 centers in the past 35 years evidences its growing popularity. At least one center boasts a tub almost as big as a football field. Osmosis Enzyme Bath in Freestone is the first location in the U. S. to offer this unique form of heat therapy. We cater to a steadily growing and enthusiastic group of users, from the San Francisco Bay Area and around the country, who have discovered for themselves the many benefits of the enzyme bath.

Calistoga Mineral Baths: Immerse yourself in a generous tub of relaxation. Ancient geyser water from our underground source, rich in minerals, rises to the earth's surface at between 160 and 180 degrees. Cooled to bathing temperatures, Calistoga's healing waters are renowned for relieving pain, tension, fatigue and stress.
